New Year, one year-old baby, it was all change. Yet again I was reminded of the maxim that with children, as soon as your child gets used to a habit and you start to master it, then they grow out of it and you have to start again. Instead of having a prone baby who liked to roll over, or then one who was quick on the marine-style crawling along the floor, now we had a toddler who could toddle with the best of them. When Keira was 13 months, I had a conversation with another parent.

       “Does Keira walk?”

       “No she doesn’t walk much.”

       “Ah well, she’ll start soon.”

“No, she doesn’t walk…because she runs”
